Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) and The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) have collaborated to introduce a six-month entrepreneurship program aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become prepared for both venturing into business and accessing credit. This program empowers students to potentially secure funds and establish/manage their own business endeavors, if needed.
The Swavalamban Skill to Enterprise Model (STEM) represents a collaborative effort between DSEU and SIDBI, targeting the selection of 30 skilled individuals with promising business ideas. Through a stringent selection process, these participants will be chosen for an intensive six-month course. DSEU’s role in this initiative encompasses the provision of comprehensive support, including nurturing entrepreneurs, offering high-quality mentorship, and facilitating incubation and handholding services. The project has three objectives:
- Recognizing students who possess the necessary entrepreneurial potential to address societal issues.
- Enhancing students’ capabilities and fostering the development of their mindset and skills, ensuring they are equipped to establish successful enterprises.
- Encouraging students to tackle real-world market challenges by creating innovative solutions.
Upon the successful completion of the program, candidates will be awarded a joint certification issued by DSEU and SIDBI.
Benefits Of DSEU & SIDBI Entrepreneurship Program
The program will emphasize four key domains, each with its respective duration and study format:
- Personality Development: Spanning over 8 weeks, this domain will involve classroom study. There will be 24 sessions, each lasting one hour and fifteen minutes.
- Business Skills: Extending over 8 weeks, this domain will encompass a combination of classroom and field study. There will be 24 sessions, each lasting one hour and fifteen minutes.
- Mentorship and Handholding: This domain will span between 8 to 12 weeks and involve a blend of classroom and field experiences. Participants will receive personalized mentorship and guidance.
- Business English Communication: This comprehensive program will cover 100 hours of classroom study, focusing on enhancing participants’ proficiency in English communication within a business context.

Outcomes Of DSEU & SIDBI Entrepreneurship Program
The program aims to achieve the following outcomes within one year:
- A target of 70% of participants will successfully establish their own business enterprises, with a minimum value of Rs. 1.5 lakh.
- The program seeks to create additional employment opportunities, with a minimum of one additional employee hired within 12 months of registering the business. This emphasizes the goal of enhancing employment prospects and contributing to economic growth.
Eligiblity Of DSEU & SIDBI Entrepreneurship Program
- Student Must have to Passed 12th Class, ITI, or a diploma from any recognized Board/University.
- Graduation with the successful completion of courses prescribed by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) and other sector skill councils.
- Enrolled in DSEU or any other skill-based undergraduate program.
